We Are Augustines - Chapel Song

This track comes off of the debut album from We Are Augustines. The duo of Billy McCarthy and Eric Sanderson once comprised 1/2 of the band Pela, but due to personal and professional turmoil, the band kept from carrying on.  The theme of the album is heavily influenced by the suicide of James McCarthy, Billy's brother.  James suffered from schizophrenia and wound up in prison where he faced five years in solitary confinement. To fuel Billy's songwriting, he incorporated the adversities he faced growing up including his time in several foster homes and the suicide of his mother. His ability to overcome these tragedies can be heard in his voice. The lyrics are raw.  Check out an interview of the band and his story HERE
