Kishi Bashi recorded his debut record with a violin and polished it with atmospheric, avant-pop undertones. He toured with Regina Spector, Sondre Lerche, of Montreal, and even collaborated with Kevin Barnes (of Montreal) on their new album, Paralytic Stalks. The relationship with Barnes made a profound impact on Bashi and the direction he took with 151a, his debut album.
