Kishi Bashi recorded his debut record with a violin and polished it with atmospheric, avant-pop undertones. He toured with Regina Spector, Sondre Lerche, of Montreal, and even collaborated with Kevin Barnes (of Montreal) on their new album, Paralytic Stalks. The relationship with Barnes made a profound impact on Bashi and the direction he took with 151a, his debut album. What's cool in his music are his textured layers, incorporating both English and Japanese lyrics. 151A is now out via Joyful Noise Records. Stream "It All Began With A Burst" below.
