Paul Banks just released his EP, Julian Plenti Lives..., today via Matador. The EP features an instrumental song and three cover songs of J Dilla, Frank Sinatra, and Harold Faltermeyer as well as the single "Summertime is Coming". Paul Banks first released his solo debut, Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper, in summer '09. Although it had hints of Interpol, the record truly stood on its own.   His debut album was better with each listen and after listening to "Summertime is Coming" ~ a dozen times, I'd have to say his solo work is better than Interpol's latest.  Hope that the full LP continues where it left off.
