The recent release of The Maccabees' third album, "Given to the Wild", received critical acclaim and stand as a major leap from their previous work ("Wall of Arms", "Colour In It"). The thing we love most is with each record, they always seem to push the envelope, refusing to settle into one particular genre. Orlando and the rest compose what interests them first, but ingeniously incorporate musical trends outside of their own. While some bands see "going commercial" as a constraint to their experimental flexibility, The Maccabees seem to stay interesting and unique along their way up. They're buzzin' throughout the UK but still relatively unknown in the U.S. Having said that, it shouldn't change their full year of touring in support of "Given to the Wild". Stream their track "Went Away" off the new album below.
